Right now, with the help of data, you are able to search almost anything online. Users are able to search for the deals, the best restaurant nearby, the best recommendation for places to go, promotion code and many more.
What is Mobile marketing ?
First, here is a quick definition of mobile marketing. It is to market your business to appeal to mobile devices users. Mobile marketing provide users with personalizes, time and location sensitive information so that they can get what they want exactly when they need it, even if you are on the go.

Time and space aspects of mobile technology?
QR codes: With the help of technology, now you are able to scan QR codes, that will lead you to a specific page or website. This also bring a mystery feeling to users, as they don’t always know exactly where they are being bought to.
Location-based: You are able to choose your ads to appear within the area you located it to be, such as within 4 km to your shop. At the same time, you may be able to reply to users that tag themselves at your shop when they were there. This is to build a relationship with the customers.
App-based: Mobile advertising involving mobile apps. This doesn’t mean that you have to create a brand new app, but creating a company is also another way to go. But you need to understand how the app will bring value to the user. For example, services like Chope/Fave are app you can leverage on, to promote your product/services on the app, to wider your customers range and reaching more users. Not forgetting, one of the most popular mobile app, Facebook and Instagram.
80% of mobile time are spend in apps, Facebook and Instagram allow you create app seamlessly and your ad will appear on the news feed, user often don’t realise that they are looking at an ad.
In-game: In-game mobile marketing refers to mobile ads that appear within mobile games, for example, you can watch a video so that you are able to claim more gems. In-game ads can appear as banner pop-ups, full-page image ads or even video ads that appear between loading screens.

Just my 2 cents, mobile marketing is an excellent idea but excessive advertising will lead to bad branding image for the advertised company. Since there are costs attached to advertising one’s product, targeting such a wide group of audience may not be an ideal target group for the products.

Long gone were the days of traditional marketing on newspaper, flyers, pamphlets and etc. So to answer your question, yes I would definitely incorporate digital marketing into my campaign. Some of the reasons are due to it being more cost effective as compared to the traditional ways and it allows for increased & better connectivity with customers.

The header of this post caught my attention as indeed most people are addicted to their mobile phones and it would definitely be beneficial for businesses to adopt the idea of mobile marketing.
To answer your last question, if i were to run a marketing campaign, i would definitely use mobile marketing as one of my approach to allow more people to know about my brand and at the same time attract more customers. However if my target market are the older people who hardly play mobile games, i would not incorporate in-game mobile marketing, or i would only choose games that are popular among the older people (eg. Candy crush).
After reading this post, it has provided me a better understanding of mobile marketing! Thankyou!
